Ms. Olympia

Maybe there really is no interest in womens bodybuilding - here on a female muscle site there isn't a single post about the 2009 Ms. Olympia, which took place about a week ago!

Iris Kyle won, so congrats to her, Heather Armbrust was 2nd. Hope to see some video of these and more of the contestants soon!

Well, now that you mention it guitardave, thanks Mike for posting the pictures from the show. It's much appreciated. Iris Kyle again. That's what, four times in a row? Congratulations Iris!! Let's see, she also won in 2004 so she's won five total. That means she needs three more to tie Lenda Murray and four more to beat her record. Click on the link below.

Your right guitardave. There is way more talk about how hot fbb's are then talk about the contests. I think there should be more of an even keel.

I  think Heather Amburst should have won the show. Her overall package was great, suit, makeup, posing, symmetry. Iris did have insane conditioning and incredible muscle maturity. I just think Heather makes a way better representitive of the Ms. O title and for fbb'ing in general. Larger feminine muscle. Balance and aesthetics. I think Iris with her size looks kinda uncomfortable looking, burly like. Yes, Heathers shoulders where a bit soft.
Just my .2 pesos

Judging in bodybuilding is so wack.  A few years ago they put out the 20% rule, intending to get woman a bit softer and more "feminine". THen they vote the most hard and muscular woman to the top. Who, by the way, last year or the year before  was getting crap for having a huge site injection bumps on her butt.

Now dont get me wrong, I love huge muscular woman.  I always just tend to go to the more aesthetically  pleasing physique, symmetrical as well. So ive always been a big Yaxeni fan. WHo is huge but I think has the qualities to be a great Ms. Olympian. Anyway, carry on. Cool

I've just seen some photos of Iris on the Muscular Development site - she's huge! A worthy champ I guess, but it's a shame that for a multi-time Ms. O., she seems almost invisible on the internet. I hope that sites like this, Femflex, and Muscle Angels have managed to get some footage of her, because I don't think I've seen any video of her in a loooonng time. I think Awefilms has some stuff from a few years back, but that's all I've ever seen of her.

I agree that Heather would've been a good winner, she looked good, as did Yaxeni. Again though, where's the recent footage of Yaxeni? Non-existent.

I hope Joanna Thomas makes a comeback soon, I think she really has the potential to be Ms. Olympia one day. I've seen lots of photos of her in contest shape, where she manages to combine the elusive combination of sexiness, femininity, size, shape and conditioning. She has the best "v" back I've ever seen too.

Anyway...

There are not a lot of hardcore bodybuilding fans that frequent this site. I'm an excercise enthusiast and I have been all my life but I don't consider myself a bodybuilder even though I include weightlifting in my workouts. I used to follow the sport closely 20 years or so ago and I would buy magazines like Flex and Muscle and Fitness but then I lost that fanatical drive and also the interest in the sport that I'd had before.
Speaking for myself, I'm not that interested in women as muscular as Iris Kyle. I don't think most other men who frequent this site are either. If you look at the Female Athletes board there is an ongoing thread concerning the WWE women wrestlers. If you look at those women, they're ridiculously petite. I mean back in the '90s with the TV show Gladiators the women like Diamond were big and muscular. That look just doesn't sell like it once did. The novelty wore off.
Anyway there are lot's of videos of Iris Kyle on Youtube but I can't find any from the '09 Ms Olympia and you're not likely to see many that aren't quickly removed. Here's one of Iris prepping for her appearance on stage at the '09 Ms International.

Here's Heather Armbrust(nee Policky) on stage at the 2007 Ms International.
