The most surprising came in high school when I was 16 and my grandmother wanted to armwrestle me.She was husky, but in her 70's. It felt like her arm locked and I couldn't move it. She released after  about 7 seconds and claimed she would have got tired, but I was getting kind of tired myself. I told my friend about this and he said I was pathetic, but he was probably being a bit naive because he was about the same strength as I.

Interesting stories. Wondering, Thomas, if you ever went 1 on 1, on the mat, with any of your a-w opponents? If so, care to share results?

Oh, and you can safely ignore Cy Kosis' crude remark. He's just jealous because right wingers like him don't have much fun in life; certainly not as much as you've had..

Thanks for sharing your experiences, and as was said...just let Cy roll of your back. Amazing how "witty" one becomes hiding behind a keyboard.

Thanks. I am a big guy so most of these girls were a lot lighter than me and I doubt they would wrestle. I only see a couple of them now. However, I am sure those gymnast would be hard to beat.

As for Cy, those kind of remarks don't bother me. They do nothing to add to the body of knowledge that we are all here to share.  Anyway, I wanted to comment on my most recent experience which has happened in the last 3-4 months and has happened few times over the last couple of years. The girl is much younger but a good friend of mine. This girl is a big Crossfitter and competes in other extreme events. We armwrestled and it wasn't even a contest. I'm not sure how long it lasted but it was seconds. Left arm was instant. Right arm had to be under 6. There are a ton of girls out there now who are crossfit strong and with the success our women had in the Olympics, it (sports in general) is/are only going to get more popular. I am not sure I could have beaten this girl when I was her age. I have lost a lot of strenght but this was quite an eye opener. Furthermore, she is not what I would call visibily muscular...Long lean muscles but you really would not anticipate her strenght levels from looking at her. The same would go for me as you would think I am stronger. The most interesting part of this whole thing is she enjoyed armwrestling me and the last time we armwrestled she issued the challenge.  Shocked

lterp, the 62 yo is interesting....there is a lady at my gym who is petite and nice looking for her age...she is around 65. She lifts heavy. She is there everyday..very serious...I know she does 45-50 dumbbells on the incline bench for reps. I have never armwrestled her and doubt I will ever get the chance. Sad

Most of the girls I armwrestled were younger with the exception of the bankers, single mom, and secretary. (back in the day that Secretary was a position) Embarrassed  and of course the ballerina

Yah, Teresita just shocked me. (For context, I'm similar build to you, I think, though not as fit -- 50 pushups, but more like 5 pull-ups at a time.) Even though she was twice my age, she could tell that I was excited by her, and she always went out of her way to flex for me. I convinced her to start using heavier weights with fewer reps, and she generally did sets of 20 with 25 lbs for her biceps and shoulders. No idea how much she could have lifted with a nice, focused 6-8 rep set.

I remember reading somewhere that the ideal build for armwrestling is to have a short humerus and long forearm, and that was definitely true of her. When I first started talking with her, I once, on a rather bold day at the supermarket, brought a tape measure and found she had 13" arms, but there was definitely some flab. Two years later, after she had lost weight but gained muscle, they were 14". Still some fat -- she was then 64 -- but less than before. She chalked her natural strength up to "having had a hard life."

Mike
Your experience with the collegiate gymnasts I tried to take in a row struck a chord.

My wife was an aerobics fanatic who got into strength training in her late 30s with incredible results.   In a year she went from fit and lean to ripped.    I loved it.

At one point she was with a group of the girls she worked out with they challenged me to armwrestle. I beat a two of them but the rest were not interested.
A few weeks later they were at the house and My wife said "let's see how many of us you can beat before you lose."

Great.  The started with the smaller girls.  The first was easy.  My the third it got tougher even though she was pretty small. I had seen my wife crush the next woman yet I could not take her down.  The 5th girl beat me.  Then my wife crushed me.

Within a few months she could beat me fairly easily every time and beat most of the men who challenged her.

I've been fortunate enough to get several matches.  Here are a few off the top of my head:

Kristen- 5'08 120 lbs Clerk/Aerobic Instructor but has made some professional porn movies when she was in her early 20s.  I won but I struggled.  I felt like she possibly wasn't giving it her all, taking it as more of a joke, not really sure about that though.

Stacy- 5'02 150 lbs Good Friend.  She beat me but after I had armwrestled several guys and my arms were tired.  I kept telling her I wanted a rematch but we never got around to it.  This happened when we were both in our late late teens.

"Trouble"- 5'04 115 Exotic Dancer.  She danced a lot on the poles and and it did her good, she beat me twice right handed and once left handed.  She also mentioned that she wrestles with her BF alot and usually has no trouble pinning him, lucky guy.

Janet- 5'05 160 Old Friend.  We armwrestled once years ago (Teenagers about 15 or 16) and she beat me, this was embarassing because she did it in front of two other girls.  We remained friends through the years and it got brought up again a couple of years ago (In our early 30s then).  Perfect opportunity, this time it was just me and her talking so I asked her for a rematch.  She complied and as soon as we started I could tell that she wasn't trying.  I said "come on, I really wanna see if you can still beat me."  She agreed to try her hardest and not only beat me, she did it in about ten seconds easily.

"Bubbles" well over 6'00" tall couldn't tell how tall exactly in her heels She wasn't skinny or big, just average body.   Exotic Dancer.  This was very recent at a club called the French Quarter in Hot Springs Arkansas.  She was probably the strongest I've ever armwrestled. She smashed me four times with little to no effort, smiled and enjoyed the whole time.

I've got a lot more experiences, I'll post them a little later as things develop on this thread.  I like reading other's experiences more than I like telling mine LOL.

I have a couple to share myself.

My first armwrestling experience was when I was in 7th grade. This girl named Kelly was a tomboy and loved to workout. Didn't play sports but just one of those types that went to the weight room a lot. She was about four inches shorter than me at the time but seemed to have really thick arms. She beat all of us guys at the table without much effort.

I also armwrestled this girl when I was 16 and she was only 12. I was much stronger but she had never lost so I heard. She held me and held me and held me even longer. I have armwrestled her close to ten times and never won. She always held me and won. She even armwrestled my father when she was 14 and won the same way. Very impressive.

In college I only have two stories unfortunately. I took on this girl after a pick-up basketball game. She was an average basketball player and she was about 5'5 but probably 140 lbs. She was a trainer with the football team and worked out all the time. I made a bet, that I would get a date with her if I won. She laughed and said ok. I never stood a chance. She had to have 13 inch arms ripped. She pinned me quickly. She told me she could beat one of the LBs on the football team too!

My wife is amazing. She can curl 30 and 35 lbs for sets of 8. She can do 120 pushups in sets of 25. She is very strong. She has always beaten me and recently has been able to beat me with several advantages.

I was in a bar one time talking to a guy and his gf.  I was mostly talking the gf.  We were talking about working out.  She said they both worked out but not always together and they were close in strength but he was stronger.

I would guess he was about 5'10 170 and she was 5'9 155.

After she told me her workouts I decided to ask her about AW.  She said she wanted to see how strong I was.  Now I have 3 inches and 20lbs on her.  I said ok lets AW.  She was strong but I knew right away I could beat her so I decide to milk it and act like I was having a tough time of it.  Now the guy who talking to someone else saw what we were doing and saw how long it took for me to beat his gf.  He then wanted to challenge me.  We set up and I beat him in less time than i had taken for his gf.  You should have seen the look on his face and hers.  He just couldn't figure out how I beat him faster than I beat her.  You might think why didn't he just AW her right there.  I think he was a little embarrassed and didn't want to get more embarrassed if he lost in public.

Great story, HummV. I had an ex-wife who was very strong. She built up her arms through her job laying underground phone cable for AT&T. I could take her but it was not easy. I remember armwrestling her in a bar at a table, in plain view of everyone. I tried to put her down as quickly as possible but it would always take at least 30 seconds. Might sound like a short time but 30 seconds is a LONG time. When the guys in the bar saw how long it took to pin her arm...some of them wanted nothing to do with armwrestling her.

Great topic!

My english is not perfect but i try my best.

My old experiences can be found here:  http://messages.herbiceps.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?num=1150583499

During the last years I met that woman a few times. We always armwrestled and she flexed for me as well.
I counted all our matches since 2006 when we had met the first time.
Statistics  left arm:   1 victory for me - 2 draws - 3 victories for her
Statistics  right arm: 1 victory for me, 1 draw, 23 victories for her

Total: 2 for me - 3 draws - 26 for her   Tongue

... more to follow

A few years ago I had a short relationship to a female sports teacher. She was 171 cm (5“6) and weighed about 64 kg (140 pounds).
I loved touching her arms and praising her muscles. Sometimes she smiled about my fanatism, sometimes it was too much for her. Her forearms were defined and more muscular than mine. She had the best ass I ever had in my hands (not in my face guys!).
In leg pressing (i mean that
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcX-P_VcG18&feature=player_embedded   )

she destroyed me totally at least five or six times.
She didn‘t like armwrestling and let me win the first time we did it (right handed). But then she put her left arm on the kitchen table and said „Push it“. So did I and could not move her arm. I gave everything I had but it was impossible to move her one inch. She recognised that my efforts were in vain and wanted to stop the fight. But I said „Why do you want to stop now. Try to win!“ So she pushed more and got an advantage of 10, 20, 30 percent and more. Maybe 6 inches from the table i could hold her from beating me. There our arms kept for a while. Suddenly she used all her body for a big attack and put me down.
I won 1, two draws and she won 3 matches.
In bed we wrestled once and she controled me with her power. No chance for me. She could do 6 pullups, 40 pushups and 11 dips. By the way she did pushups in bed on my outstretched arms and could hold me doing pushups on her outstretched arms. First girlfriend who was stronger than me.

A slightly different armwrestling experience -- this is 100% true and occurred last week.

My girlfriend Anne and I were on vacation in Colorado. While Anne is far short of a bodybuilder, she is naturally pretty athletic, and gains muscle pretty easily. Over the past year, she’s been more focused on fitness than anytime since she was a competitive 3-day eventer. Activities are largely centered around swimming, advanced yoga, barre classes, horseback riding and some light weightlifting at home (high reps, low weights), and she’s become substantially stronger. She can now beat me at armwrestling lefty, and if I don’t take any leverage advantage, win righty as well. Post-workout, her right arm has grown from 11.5” flexed a year ago to 13” today. (She’s 5’6”, about 135 lbs.) Left arm is about 1/2” smaller in both cases.

She’s totally game with all aspects of my muscle fetish, including my tendency to check out other women’s arms. This is especially true at restaurants – I kind of love waitress guns. So I pointed out that our waitress (a stocky college-aged girl named Aimee) “looked like she could take either one of us in an armwrestle,” and Anne said, “You think? I bet I could take her. I mean she looks strong, but I bet some of that is fat.”

I laughed, and Anne said, “I’m going to go to the bathroom, but if you set it up, I’ll totally armwrestle her.” I blushed, but when the waitress (who was very outgoing and friendly, which made this easier) came by to clear our appetizer plates, I said, “Hey, can I ask you a favor? My girlfriend has been giving me hell ever since she beat me at armwrestling, but I think you could take her down a peg.” Aimee laughed and said, “Bring it on! Where is she?” I said she would be right back, and Aimee said she’d watch for her.

As Anne was walking back, Aimee made a bee-line to our table and before Anne could even say anything to me, Aimee said, “Hey, I was talking to your boyfriend and –“

Before she could finish, Anne sat down and put her elbow on the table, flashing me a giant smile. Aimee sat at the corner and said, “Alright.” They locked hands and I have to say, Aimee’s arms looked just fantastic. Not a ton of definition, but a nice line, biceps about the size of a small potato. (Anne doesn’t have much of a peak – it’s more like a line along her whole arm; her triceps are very thick.)

They didn’t budge for about 10 seconds and Aimee said, “Wow, she’s strong!” They continued at it, locked. Aimee got a small advantage, then Anne got it back to the middle, saying to me, “She is a lot stronger than you are,” and both laughed, loosening their grips for a second. Aimee got another advantage, and Anne grunted a bit. She almost got it back to the middle again, but Aimee leaned into it and finally won. It took about 2 or 3 minutes, I’d guess.

They both shook out their arms, then shook hands. I asked Aimee what she did for exercise, and she said she had been a gymnast as a kid, ran track in high school, then just worked out a lot, as well as carrying trays of filled beer steins.

She needed to get back to work – otherwise I totally wanted to armwrestle her. All in all, it was one of the hottest things I’ve ever witnessed. Totally worth the 50% tip we left her. Smiley
